Our large detached family Villa is in a quiet residential area in the popular resort of Cala’n Porter on the South Coast of the island and is the perfect setting for a private and peaceful family holiday. The Villa has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 of which are en-suite. The pool and terrace area are south-west facing and gets sunshine all day with stunning views of the sunset in the evening, ideal for al-fresco dining. The Villa is close to all amenities, is fenced and gated for safety and security and is children friendly. There is a large lounge and dining area with patio doors to spacious terrace area and private pool, as well as a fully fitted and equipped kitchen/breakfast room. Completed in December 2007, this is the last of 12 newly built properties and is furnished to a high standard which offers all the expected ‘mod cons’ including air-conditioning, a full Sky TV package, DVD/CD player and internet access.

Restaurants, shops, supermarkets, a pharmacy, taxi rank, hairdressers, internet cafe, bus stops, car hire companies, cash points and currency exchange are all within walking distance. The caves at Cova den Xoroi are a 5 minute walk with restaurants, bars, famous nightclub and stunning views. The beautiful beach at Cala’n Porter is a 10 minute walk from the Villa and can be reached by steps, a 15 minute walk avoiding the steps or by car (the large car park is free). The large clean sandy beach is enclosed by high cliffs, with beach bars, restaurants and shops. You can hire sun beds, parasols and pedaloes. Cala’n Porter has a small market in the evenings twice a week.

Conditions: The Villa will be thoroughly cleaned for your arrival, all beds freshly made. Linen, bath towels and hand towels are provided and are changed weekly. Please take your own personal and beach towels. No smoking inside the Villa under any circumstances please. Ashtrays are provided for use outside the Villa. Fridays are the normal day for changeover in Menorca. On day of arrival the Villa will be ready for you by 4pm. On your day of departure, the Villa is to be vacated by 10am.

Menorca: Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea off the South East coast of Spain and its coastline has over 100 beautiful clean sandy coves and beaches. Menorca has a wealth of history with the two main towns of Mahon, which boasts one of the biggest natural harbours in the world, and the old capital of Ciutadella with its Georgian architecture and over 500 places of historic interest on the island. Menorca is only 44km long and 14km wide, so no journey by road is more than an hour. The island has a water park near the town of Cala’n Bosch and you can do go-kart racing, trotting racing, horse riding, and boat trips from a number of places around Menorca. Market days in Mahon are on Tuesday and Saturday mornings and the restaurants in the Port of Mahon are wide ranging and open till late. If you do wish to explore the island and visit one of the 100 beautiful beaches and the historic town of Ciutadella, hire a car for a few days!

How to get there: Fly to Mahon – Villa Alicia is just 14 km from the airport. Cheap flights are available from most UK airports to Mahon airport. Car hire available from all the usual companies, most of which are located at the airport in Mahon. There are always local taxis available – the fare should be no more than 20 euros and the journey should take around 15 minutes.

This detached villa is located in a quite street above the resort centre of San Jaime. The main accommodation is on two levels; the front door is on the upper level, accessed by a few steps from a shared driveway. This leads into a TV lounge with a separate dining area. From here there is a cloakroom with W.C. On the other side is a fitted breakfast–kitchen. From the living room, stairs lead down to the lower level and the four bedrooms. Here there is a twin bedroom, a second twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a third twin bedroom There is bathroom having a corner bath and a second full family bathroom on this level. The garage and laundry room lead from this level to a rear exit. Outside, from the first floor terrace, there are two sets of steps leading down to the terrace, which surrounds the large 11 x 4m swimming pool, with poolside shower. Three of the bedrooms have patio doors giving access to the pool area. There is a brick-built BBQ and plenty of patio furniture on both levels.

On one side, the untouched limestone cliffs are the home to seabirds. On the other side of the cove there are a number of homes perched precariously on the cliff-face. A unique bar and nightclub, Covas den Xoroi, named after Xoroi, a legendary Berber pirate who abducted a local girl and kept her in his cave, is set in a cave high up in the cliffs. The resort has a wealth of bars and restaurants including some on the beach. A weekly market is held in the square to compliment these.

Calen Porter is a very popular town & Beach Resort for families or couples or if you are just looking to get away for some peace and quiet, great food and gorgeous weather. It has everything you’ll need, Shops, Bars, Restaurants, a sandy beach and even a disco built into the caves. You can access the beach via steps or by a road or there is always the Calen Porter Train that does regular trips up and down to the beach and around the town. There is no need to hire a car unless you want to visit any of the other beautiful towns, beaches & water parks in Menorca although there is public transport aswell.
